Galloway Research Process
The Galloway School promotes a unique, learner-centered research process. Learners begin their investigations at the Inquire stage, asking questions and discovering keywords that will begin their research journey. The move onto Investigate potential sources and Discover new information from those sources.
Once enough questions, keywords, sources and facts have been obtained, learners Organize learned information into a logical structure. Learners can then Create and Deliver a project based on teacher guidelines and gained understanding.
At the end of the Galloway Research Process, learners Evaluate their work. This is in addition to classroom formative assessment within a research unit. They reflect on not only their finished project, but the research process they took to arrive at their final destination. They identify unanswered questions, areas of strength and opportunities for better research experiences in the future.
